Now, whenever I go on a long overseas jaunt, I always write up a nice long page of my adventures. What with all the talk of global warming and saving the environment for our children (Children? How the fuck am I gonna have children?), this time I thought I’d do the responsible thing.

So, in the interests of recycling, I’m republishing my “emails to home”.

Please don’t see this as simply a cheap ploy to save me having to come up with all new material. It’s an earnest attempt to reduce greenhouse gasses. To save trees. To look after our future. To do what is right for the planet.

The story so far . . .

A long time ago, in a house not that far away, Sam and I were talking about Amsterdam and Berlin. We were saying how we both thought they were fun cities when we’d been there with our respective (and respectable) boyfriends. Wouldn’t it be great fun to go there without our respective (and respectable) boyfriends!

Cut to 2008 and the Sydney Convicts Rugby Team, of which Sam is a member, is playing in the Bingham Cup in Dublin. Would I like to join 800 gay rugby players from all over the world and cheer the Australian team on and follow that by hitting Amsterdam and Berlin for a few weeks?

Is the pope catholic?

Even better, Bailey is also playing in the comp and will be joining the jaunt. How do I feel about the three of us hitting Amsterdam and Berlin together?.

Is the pope an ex-Nazi?

So, on Monday the 9th of June, we were sitting in the First Class Lounge at Mascot Airport sipping Champagne while waiting for our flight to be called.

Bailey, Rocky & Sam. First Class start to our trip.

The emails:

We’ll always have paris.
Postcard from Dublin.
Another postcard from Dublin.
Pretty flowers . . . preeeeeety.
It’s a bit noisy.
Drunk again!
Just pretend.
One night in Bangkok. Followed by another.
