Nothing exciting to report.

We started the month with a lunch party (it sounds wrong, but it wasn't a dinner party - it was at lunch time) with Con and Will. Will is Jimi's best friend and Con is Will's sugar daddy husband. Greig and Jimi worked their magic in the kitchen as usual.

Brad officially became part of the family when he moved into the spare room in the shed. He's actually been sort-of living there for 3 months now, but he's been working in Tasmania. He's now back in Sydney for good (he hopes).

We caught up with Mark Taylor (not the Australian cricketer) who owns SLATS, a large production company that until a couple of years ago was based here in Sydney. He has now moved his operation to Bali, somewhat of a sea-change for Mark. He was always somewhat of a workaholic and for most of his life worked seven days a week for his business. The move to Bali has changed him. He looks a lot less stressed now.

He regaled us with stories of Bali after the bomb, frightening electricians (an electrician over there is anyone who knows how a pair of cutters work) and how to operate in a society with a corrupt government. Fascinating stuff.

Another couple we know - Robert and Peter are heading over to England to work for a while. We first met Peter when ran the radio-telescope in Parkes. We had the opportunity to explore the telescope a few years ago with him and got to meet the guys behind the SETI project. I was a little surprised that they weren't wearing propeller caps. I guess it would have interfered with the alfoil caps that were stopping the Martians from reading their thoughts.

We didn't get to play cricket in the dish.

To send Robert and Peter off, we had a very nice lunch. Also at the lunch was a guy who seemed familiar to me. I couldn't quite put my finger on it though. As we were walking from the restaurant, he asked if I was also known in some circles as "Rocky". It turns out that this is a guy that I used to have regular on-line chats with a few years ago. We lost contact and suddenly here he is again!

I spent far too much time fixing other peoples computers this month. This needs to stop as I desperately need to fix mine.
