Rocky builds a wall, and looks
damn butch in the process!

With the weather cooling down a bit, we are starting to do a little more work on the shed. This months project was to finish off the wall behind the kitchen. Last month we did the initial building work and now it was time to insulate and line the wall. This involved putting up more framework, packing the inside of the wall with insulation and then lining the wall with a nice little product called mini-orb. This took a full weekend.

The end result was a huge wall of fine corrugated galvanised iron. A very industrial look that blends in surprisingly well with the shed. We are very happy with the result. The next step for the kitchen is to build a fake floor and build a nice new kitchen on top of that. These things take time.

This month sees the return of "Sydney Leather Pride Association Leather Pride Week". This is basically an excuse for kinky bastards like me to prance about in public wearing leather pants and not feel like a complete deviate. I checked out the Leather Fair Day, an event that is traditionally rained out. This year it wasn't, but it might as well have been. I think all the people who would normally set up stalls have got the shits from canceling because of bad weather and simply didn't bother to turn up at all this year.

I left the Fair pretty soon after arriving and ended up having some lunch with Sam and some of his footy cohorts. Speaking of Sam, he has broken up with Cameron. It seemed that the two of them were a little too different to be able to survive together any longer. It's a shame really because the two of them really were in love for so long. I guess it's for the best for both of them.

Pinkboard celebrated 10 years on the internet this month. Pinkboard actually started 19 years ago as a service on the Viatel network - a dodgy text based system that Telecom dabbled in at the time. I found Pinkboard in the very late 80's when it became a dial-up BBS. This is where "Rocky" was first born.

In 1995, Larry, the owner of Pinkboard, moved his system on to this new thing called the "Internet". From there it just kept growing to the monster that it is today.

The reason I mentioned this is because Pinkboard held their 10th anniversary party at fARQ night club this month. Lots of old and new faces turned up to see what everyone actually looked like. It looked like it was going to be a good night but Greig and I left early, being conscious that it was to be a big party weekend for me.

The next day (Saturday) Greig jumped onto a plane destined for Melbourne. He was working there on Monday and decided to kill three birds with one plane ticket. Get some work done, Catch up with his brother and get himself the hell out of the shed before the Inquisition Party.

Yes, this was the event for the month. Saturday night was Inquisition Night. Inquisition is an all-night dance party held by Sydney Leather Pride for all the kinky boys and girls around town. You'll find people dressed in leather, rubber, rope, and sometimes, nothing. You only get in if you are dressed in some fetish theme.

So, dressed in basic black leather, I headed into Faux Studios to see if they could redeem themselves from the woeful parties that had been held over the previous few years. I guess I'm part of the "old guard" when it comes to the Inquisition Party. I remember when the party was kinky, sexy and downright dirty. I remember Masters playing with their slaves on the side of the dance floor. I remember a boy being fisted right there on the dance floor. The party was pure filth and it was good. Then it went downhill. What about this year?

I was impressed.

While it wasn't exactly as "filthy" as it has been in the past, the vibe in the spaces was good. Everyone was friendly. Boys were playing on the dance floor. Masters played with slaves. It was all good unclean fun.

Actually, I was very lucky. Moments after arriving at the party I bumped into Sam and his footy mates. I spent the first hour of the party dancing with them. During this first hour, a very nice muscular Asian boy made himself known to me. His tall, fair, slim boyfriend also made himself known to me. This lovely couple were visiting from Melbourne. What is it with Melbourne boys? They seem to gravitate towards me and I love it!

A third boy, another slim guy around my height also became part of our merry little dance troop. This one was a local boy at least.

I could see Sam glancing over from where he was dancing with one of his footy mates. Sam has a bit of a thing about fair haired slim boys like I have a bit of a thing about muscle. Naturally, I introduced Sam to everyone and the five of us spent the entire party together. The time just flew before we all had to leave. Together.

At about 7am we all headed back to the shed, showered and then got ourselves settled in "The Container".

We had a break for a few minutes, laying around nibbling on grapes, taking on fluids and hosing off.

Just before mid-day the Melbourne boys had to leave. Unfortunately they had a plane to catch. You have no idea how sorry we were to see them go. Sam and I consoled ourselves with the third boy.

At about 7pm we finally decided that it was time to curtail our activities and think about getting some sleep. We dispatched the last boy to his home (he lives not too far from me - how convenient!) and Sam and I went about getting some take-away before crawling into bed and trying to sleep.

The next day Sam kept on looking at me. He'd just look up and giggle. We couldn't believe our luck for the weekend. A fun Inquisition party and then an entire day of hot, horny, kinky, chemically fueled sex with three other cute guys.

I enjoyed Inquisition this year. I enjoyed it very much.

Editorial: Late this month Graham Kennedy died. A great comedian, he was known here as the King of Australian television. He first appearing on TV here in 1957 - just months after the first Australian TV transmitter was turned on. Originally starting out in radio, he also graced the stage and starred in several classic Australian movies.

His first television stint, one that lasted 15 years, was to host In Melbourne Tonight. This was a tonight show similar to those seen in the US hosted by the likes of Johnny Carson. Kennedy showed what a great entertainer he was, taking to the role with the kind of gusto that only a true entertainer can. Through the 70's he hosted "Blankety Blanks", becoming the first person on Australian television to say "Fuck" on national television, and almost get away with it. He continued to work on various projects until 1991 when he retired to his property in the Blue Mountains, becoming somewhat of a recluse.

Even before Kennedy's body was cold, Melbourne "Shock Jock" Derryn Hinch announced on his radio programme that Graham Kennedy had died from AIDS. Friends and supporters of Kennedy were up in arms about this. How dare Hinch make such a wild, unfounded statement based purely on his assertion that at 71, Kennedy was a "confirmed bachelor".

Leaving aside why there is still such a stigma to anyone dying from AIDS, what gives someone like Hinch the right to make these statements about a man who obviously wanted to keep his private life private? Public interest? The public need to know this sort of information as much as they need to know Derryn Hinches preferred masturbation technique (which it appears is playing with himself while he listens to the sound of his own voice).

If the King of Australian television was in fact gay and if he was in fact HIV+, then he would have revealed this to the public if he was comfortable doing so. The man has kept his life private for the last 14 years and it is his right to do so. No-one has the right to expose someone for what they think they are, purely for their own self gratification.

Graham Kennedy was a great entertainer. He came from an era of television before "reality shows", when all television was live and entertainers lived or died by their wit. He pioneered so much that you see on television today, breaking the rules and pushing the boundaries of the medium. He really was the King.
